Indeed, if you could see ...

Death and taking lessons from it
ومن خطبة له (عليه السلام)
وفيها ينفر من الغفلة وينبه إلى الفرار لله
Indeed, if you could see that has been seen by those of you who have died, you would be puzzled and troubled. Then you would have listened and obeyed; but what they have seen is yet curtained off from you. Shortly, the curtain would be thrown off. You have been shown, provided you see and you have been made to listen provided you listen, and you have been guided if you accept guidance. I spoke unto you with truth.

You have been called aloud by (instructive) examples and warned through items full of warnings. After the heavenly messengers (angels), only man can convey message from Allah. (So what I am conveying is from Allah).

On mercy and being merciful

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. He has decreed upon Himself mercy. I bear witness that there is no deity save Allah, having no associates. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. I also bear witness that our Master Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his pure blessed family and companions, and all those who follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.

As to what follows,

I urge you, O servants of Allah, and myself to be aware that you are asked to obey Him the Most Exalted, in line with His orders: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and believe in His Messenger; He will [then] give you a double portion of His mercy and make for you a light by which you will walk and forgive you; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Al-Hadid: 28).

Ancient Ruins of Ephesus City and Surrounding Attractions

As one of Turkey’s most visited attractions receiving millions of visitors every year, Ephesus should be on everyone’s bucket list when they come to the country. I have been three times and will go back again and again because new excavations or restoration work is constantly taking place.
Most restored landmarks date from when Romans ruled the city and earlier Christianity was spreading through the region. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Roman terraced houses that belonged to wealthy citizens, the Celsus library that was the third largest in the ancient world, and the Grand Theatre where the rioters of Artemis ganged up on Saint Paul. Anyone interested in Christian religious travel, will greatly enjoy an Ephesus tour because it was one of the Seven Churches of Revelation as mentioned in the New Testament of the Bible.
If you visit Ephesus, stay overnight trip, and also take a slight detour to see the…

Laodikeia History

Laodikeia, also known as Laodicea, was an Ancient Greek then Roman city, which is now represented by a set of interesting ancient ruins.
Said by some to have been founded by Antiochus II Theos of the Seleucid Kingdom in the third century BC, many of the buildings and monuments at the Laodikeia site date from the first century BC onwards. Laodikeia later became an important Roman city, continuing to be inhabited even after it was damaged by an earthquake in 60AD.
Among the ruins of Laodikeia are the remains of the ancient theatre, which would originally have held up to 20,000 spectators. A few of the other ruins which can still be seen include the stadium and gymnasium (both 79AD), a baths complex and a Temple of Zeus.

Ottoman Calligraphy from Sakıp Sabancı Museum

The Calligraphy Collection of the Sakıp Sabancı Museum met with the Spanish public in Real Alcázar, in Sevilla, following the “Lines in Gold: Ottoman Calligraphy from Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Istanbul” exhibition held in Madrid Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. The location of the Ottoman Calligraphy from Sakıp Sabancı Museum exhibition holds a great significance in Spanish history. Real Alcázar, was built during the time of the Almohads (12th century) and expanded later in 1364. Gothic additions were made during the reign of Charles V. In great harmony with this location bearing the influence of Islamic architecture, the exhibition comprised examples demonstrating the developments in the Ottoman art of calligraphy over a period of 500 years. Works of great calligraphers such as Sheikh Hamdullah, Prince Korkut, Ahmed Karahisari, Derviş Ali, Hafız Osman, Yedikuleli Seyyid Abdullah, Mustafa Rakım, Kazasker Mustafa Izzet and Sami Efendi were viewed at the Real Alcázar.

al-Razi Facts

The Persian physician al-Razi (ca. 865-925), also known as Rhazes, prepared compilations that were influential in Western medicine for centuries. His monograph on smallpox and measles is still considered a medical classic.
Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi was born at Ray, a city not far from modern Teheran in northeastern Iran. He is believed to have devoted his early years to the study of music and philosophy. An accomplished lute player and singer, he enjoyed music throughout his life and even compiled an encyclopedia on the subject. According to one Islamic biographer, however, he never truly grasped the purpose of metaphysics and finally abandoned philosophy for more practical pursuits. He may even have earned his living for a time as a banker or money changer.

Prayer Times

Most Prayer Schedules available on-line lack some important fiqh considerations and result in wrong timings. Moonsighting.com took the initiative to educate the masses about the corrections needed, and provides the "Correct Prayer Schedule" for each prayer as explained below:

Prayer Times Definition We Use:
Fajr: Subh Sadiq (Fajr-al-Mustatir) when morning light in the sky starts spreadings horizontally. At high latitudes, where it becomes hardship to pray Fajr too early, (Tabayyan) when morning light in the sky has spread is used.
Sunrise: When the top of the sun's disk just appears above the horizon.
Zuhr: When the sun begins to decline after reaching its highest point (Zenith) in the sky. 5 minutes after Zenith.
Asr: When the length of any object's shadow reaches a factor of the length of the object plus the length of that object's shadow at Noon. The factor is 4/7 for Shi'aa; 1 for Shafi'i, Maaliki, Hanbali, and 2 for Hanafi.
