Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: Once I went to the Holy Prophet (SAW). He was resting on a sackcloth, which had welted his body. Seeing this I began to weep. He said: "Why are you weeping?" I said: "These Caesars and Chosroes, the kings of Byzantium and Iran, sleep on carpets of silk and velvet and you have to take rest on sackcloth!
